5 ways to improve your cellphone photos

Technology has been evolving through all these years and cell phones cameras have improved a lot, this is good for us because you don't need to carry your big camera everywhere but instead you have it included in your phone, which you carry all the time. I would like to give you 5 simple tips that would improve the quality of the photo and make it look like a professional´s.

Tip #1 - Clean the camera lens.

Clean lens

This is indispensable in every occasion, as you have your phone in a bag or inside your pants pocket it is easy for the lens to get dirty and when taking a photo it will affect the way it looks, as it can make it look dirty.

Tip #2 - Turn on your camera grid.

Grid on phone
The orange is placed in a intersection and it grabs more attention.

This will help you follow the rule of thirds, which states that the point in which you want to give attention in the photo must be in one of the four intersections. By doing this, your photo will get more attention because it creates a more interesting photo.

You can turn it on in the setting menu / camera.

Tip #3 - Do a little bit of zoom

If you have noticed the lens on your phone is circular and the photo is rectangular, this means that a little distortion occurs on the edges of the photo so it can reach that form. By adding a little zoom, when taking the photo, the dimensions of your objective won´t be affected and it would look natural, the way it is.

Tip #4 - Focus on the objective and adjust the light exposure

When you open the camera usually the phone will choose in what to focus so it is important for you to adjust it on the objective desired and also adjust the light to it. On the iPhone you can do so by clicking on what you want to take the photo and move the sun up or down so it receives more exposure.

Tip #5 - Take the photo at the level of the objective

If you want your picture to look natural and the dimensions of the object of the photo are kept the same, you must take the picture from its level. This implies that when it is to something lower than you to kneel down and to go up with a stair or other way if it is higher. You can see in the following simulations that if you take the picture from an upper part of the objective it will look little and on the other side, if you take it from below it will look with magnified dimensions.

Not higher

At the level
Not below

This is all for today,

And remember that the most important thing is to enjoy and picture the moment.
